In neighborhood news, if you want to experience amazing live music that sounds like it’s a playing CD come to the Disco Bay Detour this Friday night to hear Cort Armstrong.  He’s a very skilled guitar picker, playing an old resonator, singing stories sometimes in his band FarmStrong.

Other very interesting neighborhood news:  The Discovery Bay Village Store will be your local connection for kratom!  What is kratom?  Why, it’s another legal herb that people have been using all over the world for thousands of years for a stimulant or relaxation, depending on the variety.  We are asked for it regularly but can’t sell it (we may only sell cannabis, items made from it or accessories that enable consumption), so the grocery store has it available.  The DEA had moved to reschedule it as a Schedule 1 drug last year but public comments flooded in and they have not made that change.  Here’s a Washington Post article about peoples’ experiences with kratom.
