As of July 1, 2016, medical marijuana dispensaries must be licensed by the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board. Sea Change Cannabis is proud to serve the community with medical cannabis and our trained staff. Any product in the store is available for medical purchase. Medical patients must have a valid authorization form from a Washington healthcare provider. Only recommendations written on the WA Department of Health’s standard form on or after July 24, 2015 will be accepted; no other authorization form will be accepted. Patients are encouraged to join the state’s authorization database but it is not required. By joining the database patients will receive an ID card to buy cannabis free of sales tax at any medically endorsed dispensary statewide as well as increased possession limits on cannabis products and the right to grow 6 plants (up to 15 if your healthcare provider deems it necessary) and possess up to 8 ounces of marijuana from those plants. If a patient chooses not to join the database they are limited to the same possession limits as recreational users, but have the ability to grow up to 4 plants and possess 3 ounces of marijuana from those plants. Patients and designated providers wishing to join the database may do so by meeting with a Certified Medical Marijuana Consultant at any licensed and medically endorsed retail marijuana store. Give the consultant your authorization form so that they may enter your information into the database, take your picture, and create a new medical marijuana recognition card on the spot. There is a $1 card fee required by the State of Washington. Once patients are verified through the database or with a valid recommendation our Certified Medical Marijuana Consultants will be able to assist with product selection, describe risks and benefits of administration methods, advise on safe handling and storage of products and provide instruction on proper use.
