It’s time for the weekly weed report!

Summer scorch is on!  We hope you can stay cool.  Remember that we are a delightfully air conditioned oasis on the side of this roasted 1,500 mile long highway.  BC continues blowing its smoke in our faces and air quality has really suffered.  The upside is that sunrises and sunsets will be stunning!

If you’re out cruising and looking for cool relief they’re now doing iced lattes and lemonades at the Disco Bay Detour!  Lots of events coming up over the next week: Thursday is the weekly Acoustic Open Jam, bring your instruments and songs. Friday night 8/4 it’s the wild and wonderful sounds of Douglas Francisco and the Shaky Barbers.  Saturday 8/5 brings 2 incredibly compelling shows: MaeDea and Baeylin, playing music like magical spells from 5-7pm and vintage old school jazz duo Sundae and Mr. Goessl from 8-10pm.  And if Sunday morning jazz is more your thing you’d better get down here 8/6 between 9am and noon to catch Sundae and Mr. Goessl providing a glorious soundtrack to an easy morning.  Next Wednesday 8/9 we will be visited by sultry Australian blues singer/bass player Anni Piperfrom 5-8pm!  This evening’s scheduled guest Andy T Band featuring Alabama Mike has cancelled.  Check the Disco Bay Detour events on Facebook to stay up to date.

Now open!  Disco Bay Outdoor Exchange – Rental and secondhand outdoor equipment from kayaks and surfboards to bikes, backpacks, outdoor gear and apparel!  They’re located in the end of the main building, between Sea Change and the Discovery Bay Village Store.
