Weed: All About It for 10/10/19 It’s time for the weed report! Now that the new folks are in control we can finally get some big orders placed! Let’s talk about vapes, shall we? You’ve surely heard about the mysterious illnesses appearing nationwide, the suspected culprit being legal or illicit tobacco or cannabis vape juice or cartridges. Notice the number of times I used “or” in that previous sentence. It’s still a mystery as to what has caused the 800+ cases of lung problems, but our state has taken fast action to protect the public through a ban of flavored vape products. Governor Inslee has issued an Executive Order addressing the health crisis. The long and the short of it is that flavored vape products are prohibited from sale, effective today. Luckily everything we have in stock is flavored by cannabis/plant terpenes and is allowed under the new rules. Something else to consider is the vape cartridges themselves. I have always been curious about these mass produced Chinese items and what kind of metals we might be inhaling unknowingly. The great news is that Liberty Reach/Jackpot has fully switched their entire line to the Atlas A-3 Lead Free vape cartridge. Instead of a metal heating element it uses a ceramic coil that tests free of detectable lead, arsenic, mercury and cadmium. Hopefully other companies decide to go the same route.
