It’s time for the weed report!

RED ALERT: Sub X has delivered since I wrote the stuff at the bottom.  We’ve got Mango Glue in their new Subdivision line that will go for $10/g and $35/3.5g, in addition to the regular White Urkle and Gelato 33 you already know and love.  Great news is that the Orange Poison shatter, Lime 43 shatter and Zkittles sauce are all $20/g.

Next week we are excited to get a whole bunch of new stuff from new Port Townsend grower Leaf Chief…  scroll down for details!

And for those looking for Jack Herer, no telling when Cedar Creek will be at it again but in the meantime Dream City came through with some Jack popcorn eighths that will not last long.  Get some now before it’s too late.  We are so short of sativas until next week!

Check out our Leafly menu here.  The same menu is also available on our website.   We are unable to update the menu daily so check the “last updated” time stamp and call ahead if you’re depending on something.  You can also find us on Yelp and Google!  We love positive reviews, please consider leaving helpful comments so more people will check us out!  We sure do appreciate it!

This week at the Disco Bay Detour:

The Disco Bay Detour is closing at the end of the month. Here’s a statement from Greg:

As the summer comes to an end, it saddens me to let everyone know that the Disco Bay Detour is closing at the end of September. September 29th will be our last day open.

It’s been a great run, and we still have one more month of Wilderness Wednesdays, Open mics with Jillian, and a great travelling Bluegrass band, Never Come Down on 9/6. Doom Lagoon will bring some experimental funk on 9/23. We’ll have a big schwenker party/wake with the Piney Gals on 9/27, and we’d love to see you throughout September.

We are sad that we were never able to make this great space pencil, but we will continue to try for a sustainable model by connecting the Detour and the Village Store. We’re working on a plan to keep the espresso and non-alcoholic beverages flowing at the Detour as it becomes part of a larger grocery.

Our hours are set for September, but they are limited. Here is the schedule:
http://www.discobaydetour.com/…/september-hours-events-flye…

So stay tuned and we’ll keep everyone updated about our progress in connecting these two great locations and continuing to serve our community. Thanks for the great times. It’s been a blast,

Greg

Disco Bay Detour hours edited as of 9/12:
Wednesday-Thursday: 2:30pm – 9pm
Saturday-Sunday: 8am – 4pm
Open special show days listed below

Wednesdays are Wilderness Wednesdays at the Detour – Starting in April, weekly meetings at 7pm
A Collaboration between Disco Bay Outdoor Exchange and Disco Bay Detour

Join Detour bartender, former wilderness ranger and current mountain guide Erin Reading for an evening focused on wilderness/outdoor adventure. The intention is to share collective knowledge with one another, build webs of connection among various outdoor communities, and to have fun delighting in one another’s adventure planning, stories, and questions. Everyone is encouraged to bring maps (yay!), trip planning ideas and resources, gear questions, pictures, or whatever else you feel inspired to ask or share.

While the foundation of Wilderness Wednesdays is simply a time to gather informally to pour over maps and share stories over drinks, some evenings will also feature a wilderness related presentation or workshop, with topics ranging from surfing, kayaking, backcountry skiing, and mountaineering to backpacking, flyfishing, local botany, and wild foraging. If you have a presentation or workshop you would like to share for one of the weeks (30-45min long presentation, plus some Q & A time) or a topic you would like to hear someone else speak about, contact Erin at erin.b.reading@gmail.com.

***Barring rain, we will have a fire going outside – feel free to bring something to grill on the schwenker or a snack/potluck dish to share if so inspired.***

For both experienced and aspiring outdoor adventurers – all are welcome! Hope to see you there!

Scheduled talks:
9/18: Open

9/25: Olympic Peak Experiences with local Mountaineer Extraordinaire Fay Pullen
Come meet the woman whose summit registers you will find on even the most obscure peaks in the Cascades and Olympics. She is the second person and first woman to climb the 200 highest peaks in WA state, most of them solo. Unassuming and delightful, Fay will share about her current endeavor to climb the top 100 peaks on each side of the Olympic Mountains (east and west). You can read more about her here: http://www.alpinist.com/doc/web16b/wfeature-local-hero-fay-pullen

Thursdays are the Acoustic Open Mic Jam – Join Jillian as she hosts Open Mic/Jams in the Detour’s state of the art acoustic venue.  Plugged or unplugged, bring your instruments, original songs, renditions of classic ones, or works in progress.  Free, 7-9pm (8pm on 9/12)

Thursday 9/12 Democratic Presidential Debate – Come watch the third round of debates in community! Followed by a late starting open mic at 8pm.

Monday 9/23 Doom Lagoon – Doom Lagoon (Psychedelic/Jazz/Experimental/Rock) from Omaha, Nebraska brings a fun live show for all walks of life with swinging grooves, heavy metals, and everything in between! Come party with us one night only at Disco Bay Detour, Doors open at 5, show at 7-9pm

Friday 9/27 Detour Closing Party with the Piney Gals – Join us in communal sadness and celebration as we offer a hearty goodbye to the Detour in its current incarnation and soak up its welcoming vibe one last time. 6-11pm

Jay will be here signing autographs, Kris will be spinning the schwenker, Erin will be bartending, and hopefully all the locals and regulars will be partying late into the night! Plus, we’ll have awesome music (The Piney Gals, see below) playing from 7-9 – it’s going to be quite the gathering!

Bring a dish to share or something to grill on the schwenker!

Piney Gals
The Piney Gals, Kate Lichtenstein, and Charmaine Slaven, perform traditional songs and fiddle tunes dug from the roots of American folk music.

Leaf Chief (9/17) Pumped to be getting new product from a new local grower!  Johnny is really excited about this one because their head grower is a guy he used to grow with back in the medical days.  On order is bud in Blueberry Muffin, Chernobyl, Forbidden Fruit, Mint Cookies and Sour Candy.  They also do an amazing 2 blunt pack, the papers are made from green tea and cocoa leaves and the caffeine is meant to give that sort of tobacco buzz you’d get from a true blunt.  I savored my sample and look forward to more of these soon.

Cedar Creek (next week) On order:  OG Kush, Allen Wrench, Purple Punch, Allen Wrench/Jack Herer infused joints, Jack Herer 1g vape cartridges.  The terp sauce will not be available until at least the end of the month.

That’s all for this week, come see us soon! -Molly at Sea Change
