It’s time for the weed report!

Oh hooray, Spring is near.  Hopefully you are enjoying the sun lately and getting some of that unfiltered Vitamin D.  I’m not talking “Doobie”… or am I?  A whole bunch of SureFire joints arrived and are ready to go home with you!  They’re nearly all testing at 24% or higher.  If you’re curious about the staff favorite, the dark horse is the Ghost of Leeroy.  The grower says the high seems to last longer than other things and maybe this is why Johnny and I tried it and felt like it was really old school, like toking back in the day!  I said out loud “this agrees with me on a cellular level,” I can’t tell you what it is about it, but it’s good.

Thursdays are the Acoustic Open Mic Jam – Join Jillian as she hosts Open Mic/Jams in the Detour’s state of the art acoustic venue.  Plugged or unplugged, bring your instruments, original songs, renditions of classic ones, or works in progress.  Free, 6-9pm

Friday 3/1 – THAG Jazz – Andy Geiger (saxes) and Trevor Hanson (guitars) have a musical conversation at Disco Bay Detour on Saturday 3/1 from 8-10. They’ll play familiar and not-so-familiar jazz standards, exploring the interesting possibilities of the guitar/sax duo format. No cover but contributions are appreciated. (Editor’s note: Event is set in Facebook for Friday but description says Saturday)

Saturday 3/9 – Bread and Gravy Trio – Americana, Blues, Soul, Rock and more by Bread & Gravy duo plus one (Stephanie Doenges, Angela Clift and Jason Taylor).  No cover, all ages, 8-10pm

Monday 3/11 and 3/18 – Hometown Heroes – Home-town heroes Kate Powers & David Rivers deliver Scottish-Irish-Fiddle tunes in the tradition that it was always meant to be delt: Full of Joy, laughter, and Friendship, amidst incredible musicianship. Free, 6-8pm
