It’s time for the weed report!

Let’s just get this out of the way first…  Jefferson County’s voter turn out was impressive and our friend Greg Brotherton handily beat his opponent in the District 3 County Commissioner race.  Greg’s term starts in the new year and he hopes to help improve affordable housing and livable wage jobs in our community.  Yay Greg!

HOORAY the election is over and we can start thinking about the upcoming holidays.  Thanksgiving will be here sooner than you know it!  We will be having some very special deals on edibles as we get closer to the holidays so stay tuned.

Sub X arrived last week, the new Larry Bubba is a sight to behold!  Tropicanna Cookies from Liberty Reach is back in limited supply in joints, grams AND eighths so don’t delay securing some of that special flower.

Sunday 11/18 – H2Omg! with Rachel Cardone – Is the world running out of water? Ever wonder about all the water news lately? More and more, stories about water are coming into vision. Whether it’s about water quality (think Flint, Michigan, and hookworm in Alabama), long-term drought (think, Lake Mead’s running out of water)… and closer to home, our own dwindling snowpack, and recent wildfires, water security is a challenge that needs our attention – now. In this talk, participants will learn about water scarcity and its effects, both globally and more locally. We’ll talk about the future of water, and how the ways we value it in all of its different uses, needs to change.

Rachel Cardone has traveled throughout Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas working on water issues over the last 20 years, as an advisor to a wide range of public, private, and non-profit organizations. Prior to her return to independent consulting, she spent five years establishing the Water, Sanitation & Hygiene Program at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, in Seattle. About three years ago she defected from city life, to live on the Quimper Peninsula.  Free, 6-7:30pm.
